Meet Veronica Stivers (she/her), the creative force behind Big Day Events.
Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Veronica brings over 30 years of hospitality experience to every celebration she touches — and that experience shows in every detail.
Her journey began at Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, SC, where she studied Baking & Pastry, shaping her belief in Julia Child's famous adage: "A party without cake is just a meeting." Since then, she's run top restaurants, worked in wine and spirits, coordinated multi-state events for a bourbon brand, and managed events at Louisville's renowned 21c Museum Hotel. That range gives her a rare ability to bring any vision to life, no matter the scale or style.
Through Big Day Events, Veronica channels that expertise into weddings — while also designing corporate events from New York to California to London through Big Day's sister company, Umbrella Event Group. Whatever the occasion, it gets the same thoughtful, high-caliber treatment.
What truly sets Veronica apart is her dedication: she's the first to arrive and the last to leave, ensuring every detail is accounted for. She has a genuine love for a great theme and an even greater love for a well-organized spreadsheet — the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly.
